Tragic Motorcycle Collision in Peoria

On Sunday morning, November 9, 2025, a fatal crash at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Peoria Avenue in Peoria claimed the life of 70-year-old Michael Anthony Bianco, according to a report from AZFamily.

At around 7 a.m., first responders arrived after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and two vehicles. Bianco sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the Peoria Police Department confirmed.

Authorities stated that impairment is not believed to be a factor, but the intersection was closed for several hours as investigators worked to determine what caused the crash.

What Happened at Grand and Peoria Avenue

The crash occurred near one of Peoria’s busiest intersections, causing traffic disruptions throughout the morning. According to police, the motorcycle collided with two other vehicles, leading to extensive damage and a full roadway closure while crews cleared the scene.

As the investigation continues, Peoria police detectives are working to identify the sequence of events and determine if speed or distraction played a role.

This tragic event highlights the ongoing risks motorcyclists face on Arizona’s urban roadways. Even when riders follow traffic laws and wear protective gear, they remain vulnerable to severe injuries or fatalities in multi-vehicle collisions.

Motorcycle Safety Remains a Critical Concern

Motorcyclists represent a small portion of Arizona drivers but account for a disproportionately high number of fatal crashes each year. Local authorities continue to remind drivers to stay alert at intersections, double-check blind spots, and share the road responsibly.

In many cases, motorcycle crashes occur because another driver fails to yield or misjudges distance and speed. When that happens, victims and their families often face mounting medical bills, loss of income, and overwhelming emotional distress.
